  After initially seeing another surgeon at Woodlands hospital who advised he could not help me due to a pre-existing medical condition, I was referred via my private health insurance to Mr Kalyan. I was suffering with severe back and nerve pain, along with sciatica caused by disc protrusion. I was really struggling to walk and had lost hope due to the previous spinal surgeon I had seen and the long NHS waiting lists that meant I was facing up to a year’s wait for treatment. My quality of life was severely impacted due to intense pain and mobility issues.

  From the moment I met Mr Kalyan he listened and questioned me in depth to understand more about my symptoms, pain and challenges completing normal daily tasks. HE TOOK TIME TO EXPLAIN THE FINDINGS in my MRI and the possible treatment options highlighting the possible benefits and stating the risks each treatment presented. HE SPOKE VERY HONESTLY about best and worst outcomes to allow me to make an informed choice. HIS EXPERTISE AND KNOWLEDGE AND MOST OF ALL HIS PATIENT FOCUS GAVE ME REAL CONFIDENCE IN HIS ADVICE.

  In early July he administered 3 spinal block injections under anaesthesia, and I immediately felt relief and improvement in pain levels. THE AFTERCARE HE PROVIDES IS SECOND TO NONE, clearly explaining how to avoid further injury and aid recovery.

  I AM NOW MEDICATION FREE, BACK AT WORK AND MY QUALITY OF LIFE HAS RETURNED.

  For 18 months I suffered from horrendous sciatic nerve pain in my right buttock, leg, and foot. After taking lots of different medication and visiting various health practitioners, I conducted some research and found Dr Kalyan!

  Within one week of seeing Dr Kalyan, and following a scan, Dr Kalyan diagnosed severe spinal stenosis - the following week I had lumber decompression surgery, discectomy and facetectomy. I am delighted to say that I am now 5 months post-surgery, and I am STILL PAIN FREE.

  WHAT A WONDER THIS MAN IS, from my initial consultation to wound checks, Dr Kalyan is with you every step of the way. HE IS THE MOST CARING HEALTH PROFESSIONAL I HAVE EVER MET. I am a lady in my early 50's and have had to make some lifestyle changes but I will always make sure that I listen to his advice to ensure my spine serves me well.

• - Can Honestly say I have no pain whatsoever from my leg since! And have full use of my leg again; Care I received was exceptional and I’m forever grateful.

  I was referred to Mr Kalyan with horrendous back pain, loss of feeling down my left leg, severe pain in my left leg that left me with only 50% strength/use of my leg.

  He arranged an MRI scan which took place within that week. He explained my results and showed me where my problem was and explained the available treatments. I was operated on by Mr Kalyan and can honestly say I HAVE HAD NO PAIN WHATSOEVER FROM MY LEG SINCE! AND HAVE FULL USE OF MY LEG AGAIN.

My back pain has improved around 80%; Given me a new lease of life: I couldn't be happier to use him and his services.   I've struggled the last 2 years with severe sciatica and back pain with a disc protrusion and back problems. I tried physiotherapy, chiropractor, pain medication and was on the NHS waiting list for injections and possible surgery.   I was in total agony with my back. He put me through a full MRI scan to determine my issues. Quickly diagnosing my pain problems, he done a temporary spinal block and gave me steroid injections. The pain relief was almost instant.

  And although my arthritis will never improve, Dr Kalyan has made it possible for me to live pain free. To have a night’s sleep without waking up every time I turn is amazing.

  I have had a great experience with Dr Kalyan on two occasions, once for neck and then for back pain. Mr Kalyan is very knowledgeable and spends time explaining the root cause of the problem and has supporting materials to help make this understandable to a non-medically trained person. He offers great advice on preventative techniques as well as pain solutions.

  After my pain became unmanageable, he was able to perform a spinal injection which was incredible and made my life so much less restricted. Mr Kalyan is very professional and approachable, strongly would definitely recommend.
